Cops fatally shot a 25-year-old man who charged at them with a knife in a Brooklyn apartment Tuesday afternoon while responding to a domestic dispute, according to police.Two officers responded to 108 Christopher Avenue in Brownsville just before 3 p.m.after a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend — who was known to carry machetes and hammers — had threatened her in a rage over another man babysitting their kids, the NYPD said at a press conference Tuesday night.The woman, who was home with her children, feared her former partner was on his way to kill her, police said.The woman met police in the building’s lobby, and once they stepped into her apartment, they were confronted by the suspect, who allegedly lunged at the officers with a large black knife, the NYPD said.One officer fired a Taser, but the knife-wielding madman continued to rush at the officers, forcing the second cop to shoot him twice in the chest.The man, whose identity wasn’t released, was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.The officers involved, who captured the disturbing ordeal on their body-worn cameras, were also taken to a local hospital for evaluation, police said.The woman, her children, and the two cops were not injured during the incident.Police, who seized the bladed weapon, are uncertain how the crazed suspect entered the home.
