Bearded cane-toting man shoots guy on NYC street

A cane-toting man sparked up a conversation with a guy on the street in The Bronx on Saturday — and shot him before disappearing into the night, police said.The incident unfolded around 8:45 p.m., when the shooter walked up to his 38-year-old victim in front of 1550 University Ave.in Morris Heights and struck up a conversation, cops said Sunday.It’s not clear if the two men knew each other.“As the victim walked away, the individual followed him, displayed a firearm and fired multiple rounds, striking the victim about the body,” the department said.
