Former Penn State football player seriously hurt, fiance killed in Colorado hit-and-run

Former Penn State football player Kyle Vasey was seriously injured and his fiancée was killed after police say a driver with a revoked license plowed into pedestrians on a Colorado sidewalk.Vasey, 30, was walking with his fiancée, 35-year-old Corinne More, the morning of June 1 in Highlands Ranch, when they were struck, CBS Colorado reported.More was killed in the crash, while Vasey was hospitalized with serious injuries and has undergone multiple surgeries.A third pedestrian, 72-year-old Dianne Windes, was also hospitalized with serious injuries.Vasey was a long snapper at Penn State, where he started all 13 games in 2017 and was later awarded a scholarship by coach James Franklin.In 2018, Vasey signed with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent but was later waived.A GoFundMe for Vasey’s recovery says he suffered multiple fractures, including three spine fractures and four broken ribs, and has undergone six surgeries.

The fundraiser says he was still on a ventilator and sedated to manage pain, but that his family was optimistic about his physical recovery.Authorities arrested 28-year-old Adam Bauserman about 15 minutes after the crash after a witness followed his truck more than five miles to Daniels Park, per CBS Colorado.Witnesses said the driver made a U-turn after the crash, returned to the scene, slowly drove past the wreckage and then left.Deputies described Bauserman as “unusually quiet” after his arrest.At one point, he allegedly asked: “Do you know if I killed the man?”The man survived.

More did not.Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly said investigators do not believe Bauserman knew any of the victims.Bauserman was driving with a revoked license after a DUI last year, authorities said.“Mr.Bauserman has had several revocations and suspensions of his license over the last 10 years,” Weekly said.
