Lions sign Amon-Ra St. Brown and Penei Sewell to blockbuster extensions as Jared Goff waits

The Lions have locked up two of their building blocks for years to come.In a flurry of deals reported on Wednesday, the Lions signed wideout Amon-Ra St.Brown to a four-year extension worth $120 million with $77 million guaranteed, and offensive tackle Penei Sewell to a new four-year deal worth $112 million with $85 million guaranteed.

The structure of the contracts should come out in the coming days to discern how much of the money is fully guaranteed versus guaranteed for injury.St.

Brown is a two-time Pro Bowler and was named an All-Pro this past season.Meanwhile, quarterback Jared Goff’s long-term future with the franchise is up in the air.ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on X on Wednesday that there is no new contract “imminent” for Goff.“The Lions and Goff have spoken about a new deal this off-season, but no deal is close at this time,” Schefter wrote.

The Lions went 12-5 last season and won the NFC North behind Goff’s 4,575 passing yards with 30 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.Still, the QB was aware of the uncertainty around him heading into the offseason.“In regards to my future, it’s not up to me,” he said after the Lions season ended in January.
