Man charged after trespassing onto tarmac at major airport

A man who had been in the bushes next to a major Australian airport and made his way onto the tarmac has pleaded guilty to trespassing.The 33-year-old man from Perth was stopped by airline workers who spotted him on the Perth Airport tarmac about 9:30 pm on Tuesday.He managed to enter the airport from bushland and reach the tarmac before he was arrested by the Australian Federal Police.He appeared in the Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to trespassing on Commonwealth land.AFP detective acting inspector Aden Jama said it was dangerous for unauthorized people to be on the tarmac around aircraft, and such incidents also put workers at risk.“If you trespass on Commonwealth land or enter an airside security zone without authorization, you will face prosecution,” he said.The AFP provides aviation security at nine major airports in Australia.The man will be sentenced on May 25....
