Serena Williams, Saquon Barkley and Simone Biles show up in style as sports stars shine at Met Gala

Some of sports’ biggest stars joined the biggest names in pop culture during the iconic Met Gala on Monday night, held every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to benefit the museum’s costume institute. The personalities from the sports world included everyone from tennis great Serena Williams to F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton to Super Bowl champion Saquon Barkley. The theme of this year’s event was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”The Eagles running back and former Giant sported a classic tuxedo designed by Thom Browne and an H.Moser & Cie.

Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Vantablack watch to complement the outfit.“In my business, we say look good, feel good, play good.So it applies to everything — not just sports but life and especially fashion,” Barkley told the Daily Mail on the red carpet. Fellow Eagles teammate Jalen Hurts strolled down the red carpet in a black velvet double-breasted Burberry suit that featured floral embroidery on the jacket. Director and celebrity Knicks fan Spike Lee made sure to don a Knicks hat as part of his ensemble, with his favorite opening its second-round series against the Celtics in Boston on Monday night. Angel Reese made her second consecutive appearance at the Met Gala and was named to the 2025 Gala Host Committee in February, as part of a committee that included fellow sports stars Hamilton and LeBron James. Reese was dressed in a Thom Browne dress as she walked the red carpet for the iconic event. Gymnastics superstar Simone Biles and Bears safety Jonathan Owens – also members of the Gala Host Committee – celebrated their wedding anniversary a day early at the Met Gala. “I’m just excited to be with my husband,” Biles said during a live stream produced by Vogue.

Bengals star Joe Burrow, former NBA superstar Dwayne Wade and his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson, Olympian Sha’Carri Richardson and members of the Liberty were all on hand for Monday’s event....
