They found a stash panda.A pet raccoon with a meth pipe in its mouth caught the eye of Ohio cops during a traffic stop for a suspended license — leading them to discover a huge drug supply Monday.Eagle-eyed officers noticed “Chewy” the raccoon sitting in the driver’s seat — seemingly making use of the drug paraphernalia after owner Victoria Vidal, 55, was detained, Springfield Township Police Department said in a Facebook post.The Akron resident had an active warrant, they added.
“Chewy had somehow gotten hold of a glass methamphetamine pipe, leading officers to further inspect the vehicle,” cops reported.The intrigued officers then discovered a bulk amount of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and three used glass pipes in the vehicle.Bodycam footage showed the well-fed raccoon rooting around in the ruinous car — wide-eyed and docile as it put the pipe to its snout.“Thankfully, Chewy the raccoon was unharmed, and notification was made to the proper authorities to determine that [Vidal] has the proper paperwork and documentation to own the raccoon,” Springfield police said.“While our officers are trained to expect the unexpected, finding a raccoon holding a meth pipe is a first! No raccoons were hurt or injured in this incident.”Vidal was charged with F3 possession of drugs, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and was cited for driving with a suspended license, cops said.She was also booked by Cuyahoga Falls Police for her active warrant, according to the post.It is legal to obtain a permit to own a raccoon in the state of Ohio, according to Fox 8.Cops did not make clear whether Chewy tested positive for drugs or whether he will be returned to Vidal.The Springfield Township Police Department did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.Springfield made headlines over other animals last year, when then-candidates Donald Trump and JD Vance amplified wild claims that illegal migrants were eating pets and geese in the city....
