A 12-year-old migrant boy has been deemed the ringleader of a migrant robbery gang preying on people in New York City (“The puny li’l punk is at it again!” May 6).This sanctuary city has provided the juvenile thug with a taxpayer-funded hotel so he has a place of refuge after he and his cohorts return from a day of robbing and terrorizing average city dwellers.When police attempted to apprehend the gang of punks after an attempted robbery, they were attacked by hurling projectiles.This revolting scenario is a microcosm of the deplorable migrant crisis facilitated by blue-state politicians who are continuing to inevitably jeopardize the safety of law-abiding citizens.Denis DavidEast RockawayAs a psychologist who is trained in the treatment of children and adolescents, I say there have to be significant consequences to end this madness.The punishment needs to be swift and consequential; afterward, with some luck, this preadolescent can be reintegrated back into society.Leniency and no consequences will lead to further antisocial behavior.Martin GarfinkleStaten IslandIt looks like these kids need a nice stay at CECOT in El Salvador to wipe the smiles off their faces and give them a much-needed attitude adjustment.
