Yankees fan secretly swipes Aaron Judge home run away as supporter who caught ball celebrates with friends

Aaron Judge did as Aaron Judge usually does and homered into the right field seats in the fourth inning at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night. But that’s only where the interesting part in The Bronx began.

Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr.leaped at the wall and couldn’t make the catch — but a fan in the first row of the stands did, snagging Judge’s 12th long ball of the season.

The green-jersey-wearing fan who caught the ball in his glove started celebrating with a group of supporters, jumping up and down in pure jubilation.Only there was one problem.

Amid the exaltation in the seats, the ball trickled out of the fan’s glove and rolled along the top of the wall in front of a fan in a gray jersey, who slyly snagged the ball and pocketed it, seemingly without the other group knowing.A fan next to the person in the gray jersey apparently ended up with the ball at some point, and they ended up returning it to the group who had originally caught the ball, leading to a selfie with the souvenir. All of this was captured by the YES Network cameras and eventually narrated by play-by-play man Michael Kay.

“Watch the guy in the gray jersey, ‘I’m going to take this and put it right in my pocket … nobody saw it,'” Kay imagined the fan’s thought process.“I just love the casual way… nobody’ll see this.” “Only the YES cameraman saw it,” analyst Paul O’Neill pointed out. What looked like a potential fourth straight loss quickly became a huge night for the Yankees after they rallied for a 10-run seventh inning to pull away with a 12-3 win over the Padres after relievers Adrian Morejon and Wandy Peralta imploded.

The two teams will finish their series on Wednesday night with aces Max Fried and Dylan Cease set to do battle....
