A brazen vagrant crook snuck into a Big Apple courthouse over the weekend and made off with a pair of laptops from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, police and law-enforcement sources said.The sly thief walked into the 100 Center Street entrance of Manhattan Criminal Court around 5:20 pm Sunday through an unlocked door of the courthouse, which was open to the public, cops said.The vagrant first stole a pair of headphones from a second-floor courtroom, then shot up to the 15th floor of the building.There, he pried open the door to the DA’s Violent Criminal Enterprise Bureau office and made off with two laptops, the sources said.Security cameras captured the crook, who was in the building for about 20 minutes, casually leaving wearing a Carhartt jacket — also stolen from the courthouse — and lugging a bag packed with the pilfered goods, according to the sources.Police have identified the perp and are scouring homeless shelters to track him down, the sources said.The vagrant was apparently looking for an employee of the DA’s Office, though its unclear why or if the two knew each other.
The staffer filed a complaint reporting the theft, according to the sources.It is also not know if the stolen laptops contained important or confidential information.Reps for DA Alvin Bragg and for the state Office of Court Administration did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the heist....
