Newlyweds Jack McGowan from Scotland and Kathryn from Northern Ireland, tied the knot last week alongside 95 bridesmaids.Once Jack got down on one knee and popped the question, the couple told BBC News that they were already dreaming about a large bridal party.“I was thinking and thinking about how it was going to work and I thought in my head, what’s the biggest number of bridesmaids I could have?” Kathryn told the outlet.
One thing led to another, and what originally started as seven or eight people standing alongside them on their special day somehow grew to 95 — with ages ranging from six to 40.The couple — who got married in Northern Ireland — reportedly had a 250-person wedding.
Do the math, and almost half of the wedding was a bridesmaid.“All my dancers and my friends that have been in my life for a long time, they’re still very much a massive part of my life,” she said, according to BBC News.While 95 women coordinated to support the bride — the groom only had eight groomsmen.But he didn’t seem to mind that his side was outnumbered.
“I’m used to these big events with lots and lots of our dancers, so I strangely expected nothing less,” he said.One would assume it was a chaotic scene, but surprisingly, it was the opposite.“The girls all know how to get in formation and organise themselves very quickly,” the glowing bride said.“It was absolutely brilliant,” said the beaming groom.
