Cecily Strong makes SNL return as Jeanine Pirro alongside Colin Josts Pete Hegseth

Cecily Strong made a surprise return to “Saturday Night Live” over the weekend as she appeared alongside Colin Jost in a sketch poking fun at Trump administration officials Jeanine Pirro and Pete Hegseth.The “SNL” alum came back to play former New York prosecutor and Fox News host Pirro in the wake of President Trump recently naming her as interim US Attorney for Washington, DC.Strong appeared alongside James Austin Johnson as the president and Jost as Hegseth in Saturday’s cold open.The sketch began with a crack at Trump’s tariffs, a recurring theme on the NBC show in recent weeks.“Can a country go out of business? We’re going to find out,” Johnson said as Trump.But moving on to “good news,” he then told the audience he had “just appointed one of the loudest people I know to be the US attorney in DC, Jeanine Pirro,” as Strong walked on stage to applause.“Jeanine will be the newest addition to my incredible team in my administration,” Johnson’s Trump added.“And what a team, Mr President,” Strong’s Pirro said.“I’m so proud to be part of this group full of Russian assets, boozehounds and people famous for the little baby animals they’ve killed.”Johnson’s Trump called “Pirro” a “great legal mind,” adding that she had the “most important quality I look for in a lawyer — she’s on TV.”It isn’t the first time Strong has impersonated Pirro on “SNL,” and she marked Saturday’s appearance by bringing back a running gag where she did a spit-take directed at “Weekend Update” segment anchor Jost.“I love Pete Hegseth.
