Yet, when she found out her husband was having an affair — for six years — she said she was blindsided.“I loved all that we’d built together with our family; I couldn’t bear the idea of losing him,” she wrote in the article.After finalizing their divorce, her ex-husband remarried quickly, and “we now have a decent working relationship.”Fidler distracted herself from her heartache by building her own skincare company for teens called Spots & Stripes.

After some time, she eventually felt ready to date again and went on “fine” dates with men — but soon realized she didn’t want to “swap stories about divorce and children.I wanted something different.”“With a friend egging me on, I switched my dating age range to 27-39, and the pictures immediately looked so much better,” she explained.She realized that when you stop looking for “the one” — things get way more exciting and liberating.It was in that moment that she met her current beau.

After an incredible date, Fidler realized how this new guy made her feel: desired.“I didn’t question why he’d want an older woman.
