Exclusive | How Heidi Montag stays in shape as a busy mom including the workout she loves but hasnt done since the fires

Heidi Montag is anything but superficial about her health — even if she’s not always quite as well-rested as she’d like.“I’ve come to the conclusion that, f being a mom, I’m just gonna be exhausted,” she admitted to The Post.But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t do her best to eat healthy, work out and take care of herself.The 38-year-old reality star told us the health habits she lives by, from her exercise routine — which has changed a bit since the LA wildfires — to her trick for keeping her energy levels up.“I think that eating healthy is the number one priority, because if you eat healthy, there’s less pressure for getting in the gym,” Heidi said.The mother of two isn’t a devotee to any particular diet trend, but instead focuses on maintaining balance.
She makes sure to have protein with every meal, healthy fats, vegetables and fruit.Some of her go-to foods are hard-boiled eggs, avocados and bananas.“But with kids around, it’s really challenging!” she admitted.
“I’ll always sneak a bite of the cake or mac and cheese.It’s like, all these kids’ foods are so good.”Probiotics are also a big priority for gut health, so she incorporates things like yogurt and fermented pickles into her meal plan.“I noticed that my body functions better with it.
So I have yogurt every single day,” she said.That whole “having kids around” thing is certainly tricky, with Heidi sometimes making separate food for Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2-and-a-half.But she’s happy to have a go-to meal in common with one of her kids.“My son’s favorite food is meat and rice, and he loves that, so I eat that with him,” she said.“I just have less amounts of rice.“I also want to eat whatever’s fast and easy because they all eat in five seconds and are running around screaming.
So I just kind of eat on the go.I don’t want to spend too much time.
