Stranger shoves two men onto NYC subway tracks during clash: cops

A stranger shoved a 71-year-old man and another straphanger onto subway tracks during a clash in a Lower Manhattan station Monday night, police said. Both victims were injured but still able to climb back up onto the platform on their own before the next train came into the station, authorities said. The suspect, Terrell Coley, 35, is accused of pushing the senior and a 30-year-old man onto the R and W train tracks at the Whitehall Street station around 10:30 p.m.Law-enforcement sources say Coley and the two men got into an argument before the shoving, but it’s unclear what sparked the feud.It also wasn’t known if the two victims knew each other.The older man broke his elbow in the fall, while the younger victim suffered a cut on his left elbow and right pinky, as well as hip pain, police said. Both were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. Coley of Brooklyn was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of second-degree assault, a felony, as well as reckless endangerment, authorities said. ...
