Boxer Georgia OConnor dead at 25 just two weeks after wedding

Boxer Georgia O’Connor died at the age of 25 after a long battle with cancer, according to reports.The British fighter was diagnosed with what doctors claimed was a “rare and aggressive” and “incurable” form of cancer in October 2024.O’Connor’s tragic death comes less than two weeks after she married her partner, Adriano.She shared the special day on Instagram in a picture of both her and her husband’s hands entangled, showing off their rings.“‘09.05.2025.The day I married the love of my life,” O’Connor wrote in the caption for what would be her final post on the social media platform.
O’Connor, from Country Durham, had a sparkling amateur career where she won gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017.She also earned a silver medal at the 2017 World Youth Championships, before claiming a bronze in the same tournament in 2018. “We’re deeply saddened by the passing of Georgia O’Connor,” England boxing wrote on X.“A gifted boxer and beloved member of the amateur boxing community, she won medals at the Commonwealth Youth Games, Youth Worlds & European Championships.
