An NYC lawyer wants United Airlines to pay him $65,000 for leaving him “stranded” at Newark Airport.The airline at first blamed mechanical issues, then weather, for canceling the June 28, 2023 flight from Newark to San Francisco, Jonathan Davidoff claimed in a lawsuit.But the weather was clear when Davidoff, 52 — who said he has flown more than two million miles with United — arrived to catch Flight 2032 for the journey to California to attend to Wineosaurus, a small wine business he owns, he said.United “understaffs the airline so that it does not have enough employees to operate all of the flights [it] schedules,” he said in the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit in which he’s acting as his own lawyer.The company then “cherry picks flights to cancel when it does not have sufficient staffing to operate all of the flights it schedules and sells tickets for,” he continued, slamming United for its allegedly “unfair business practices.”Davidoff, who also intended to travel to Las Vegas and ultimately canceled the trip, alleged he was refunded the cost of the ticket but not given any compensation and decided to sue “after exhausting my efforts with United and my claim with Department of Transportation received no response.“I think United can do a lot more.

It is the false information and the lack of acceptance of responsibility that is problematic,” he told The Post.“United penalizes its customers when they need to change flights or have extra luggage, but does not want to be penalized when it does something wrong.”United declined comment....
