21-year-old shot in neck and killed on NYC street: cops

A 21-year-old man was shot in the neck and killed in Chelsea Wednesday night following a fight with the gunman, police said.The NYPD received a call for an assault in progress in front of 431 W.17th St.

just before 9:20 p.m.When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim unconscious and bleeding from his neck, where he had been shot, cops said. Paramedics rushed the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.Police have identified the victim, but are not releasing his name until they have notified his family.There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation is “active and ongoing,” police said....
