UNCs Mike Lombardi calls out comical Bill Belichick, Jordon Hudson narrative

“Noise” is the new buzzword at North Carolina for describing anything mentioning the ‘It’ couple on campus. North Carolina football general manager Michael Lombardi – head coach Bill Belichick’s right-hand man – appeared Saturday on ESPN Radio’s “Marty and McGee” and was asked about all the recent reporting around Belichick and girlfriend Jordon Hudson.“I mean, a lot of it is just noise,” Lombardi said, according to Pro Football Talk.“And for us to be distracted by something that has no bearing, that has no relevance whatsoever, that is a complete falsehood in terms of what people are saying or what they’re writing, it’s comical.
And for me to really even attack anybody who’s saying it gives them credibility.Which I don’t, because it’s a completely false narrative.”Belichick used the same term this week when asked about the slew of reports that have followed his disastrous “CBS Sunday Morning” interview in April. It was meant to promote his book “The Art of Winning,” but ended up drawing attention to the influence that the 24-year-old Hudson seems to be wielding over the 73-year-old greatest coach in NFL history because she wouldn’t let him answer a question on how they met. “Look, I’m really focused on doing my job here at North Carolina… that’s my big focus,” Belichick said when asked what the biggest misconception about him is amid the public interest in his personal life.
