Trump has zero plans to call Gov. Tim Walz after Minnesota shootings: Why waste time?

President Trump on Tuesday said he has zero plans to call Minnesota Gov.Tim Walz after the targeted shooting of two state lawmakers — insisting it would just “waste time.”“I think the governor of Minnesota is so whacked out.
I’m not calling him.Why would I call him?” Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he headed back from the G7 Summit in Canada Monday night.
“The guy doesn’t have a clue.He’s a mess.
So I could be nice and call him, but why waste time?”Trump quickly issued a statement in the wake of Saturday’s twisted bloodshed, saying such “horrific violence” would not be tolerated in the US.The prez, though, has so far declined to offer conciliatory words to Walz as he handles the assassinations in his state. The accused assassin, Vance Boelter, had allegedly posed as a cop before shooting and wounding state Sen.
John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, in their home over the weekend.Boelter then allegedly drove to the home of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman, where he executed her and her husband, Mark, cops said.He was nabbed on Sunday night in a field less than a mile from his home after the largest manhunt in Minnesota state history.Trump’s decision not to call Walz comes just weeks after the former vice presidential candidate had urged his fellow Dems to “be a little meaner” and “bully the s–t” out of people like Trump.
“Maybe it’s time for us to be a little meaner,” the failed vice presidential candidate said to audience applause on May 31.“Maybe it’s time for us to be a little more fierce because we have to ferociously push back on this.”“When it’s a bully like Donald Trump, you bully the s–t out of him.”In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the governor changed his tune and quickly implored people to lead with “grace and compassion.”“This cannot be the norm.
It cannot be the way that we deal with our political differences,” Walz said of the quadruple shooting....
