Gerrit Cole believes best baseballs ahead of Yankees despite five-game losing skid

Gerrit Cole likes the direction of the Yankees and doesn’t even think the ballclub has hit its stride yet. Cole made the remarks while serving as a guest analyst on the YES Network broadcast during the Yankees’ 4-0 loss to the Angels on Tuesday night.The Yankees ace is out for the entire season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in March, but remained bullish on his team when asked about what he thought of the 2025 version of the Bronx Bombers, despite the Yankees extending their losing skid to five games — including three straight shutout losses. “I like this club a lot.You go through highs and lows throughout the season,” he said on air.

“You obviously don’t like to lose, but it happens sometimes.I think the balance of the club is great.

I think the team’s speed is up.I think the defense is up, obviously, Max [Fried] and Aaron [Judge] are having outstanding years carrying the club.
