Authorities investigating troubling anonymous, unsolicited pizza deliveries to congressional lawmakers

Federal authorities are investigating a spate of unsolicited pizza deliveries to the homes of congressional lawmakers. Pies have arrived on the doorsteps of both Democrat and Republican House lawmakers, as well as current and former US Capitol Police leaders, according to ABC News, and authorities are concerned the anonymous deliveries may have a threatening intent.“These recent pizza deliveries are troubling and yet again, bring to light the heightened threat landscape we are living in,” the Capitol Police told the outlet.“Violence and threats, of any kind, targeted at elected officials will not be tolerated.”Capitol Police said it is “working with our federal, state, and local partners to address the matter.”Many of the deliveries arrived in the wake of the shooting of two Minnesota state lawmakers at their homes and the ensuing manhunt for the alleged gunman, Vance Boelter, the outlet reported. Some pizza deliveries, however, were made before the shootings in Minnesota that killed former state House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband. Boelter’s manifesto contained the names of as many as 70 people — largely lawmakers and abortion advocates — he may have sought to target, according to authorities.The chilling list reportedly included Sens.
