Tyrese Haliburtons dad couldnt watch in heartbreaking moment after sons Achilles injury

John Haliburton couldn’t bear to watch as his son and Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton had to be helped off the court with a right leg injury. The ESPN cameras captured elder Haliburton watching on, putting his hands over his face and looking distraught in the heartbreaking moment for both Haliburtons while watching Indiana try to beat the host Thunder in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.John confirmed to ESPN that it was an Achilles injury in a conversation with Lisa Salters late in the second quarter. “Mr.Haliburton confirmed it is an Achilles injury and he said Tyrese is doing as well as he can be under the circumstances,” Salters reported on air.
“The entire family is back there with him.His mom, his dad, his brother.
He says that he seems to be in good spirits. He’s watching the game and he’s trying to root on his team from back in the locker room.”Tyrese Haliburton suffered the devastating injury in the first quarter while dribbling with the ball before he fell and was immediately in pain. The pain was evident as he started banging on the court, and the team’s training staff rushed to his side. The Pacers leader had to be helped to the locker room and was clearly unable to put any pressure on his right leg. The team initially labeled the injury a lower right leg injury and that he would not return to the game, before John Haliburton confirmed the further extent of the injury.Tyrese Haliburton had been dealing with a calf injury that he suffered in Game 5, but was listed as available for Games 6 and Game 7 and said that he wanted to play as long as he could walk. Haliburton had nine points in his seven minutes on the floor before the injury and shot 3-of-5 from the field.
