Israel threatens to resume intense operations to attack Tehran after claiming Iran violated cease-fire
Israel vowed to retaliate against Iran firing a fresh barrage of missiles early Tuesday – just hours after their cease-fire was supposed to take effect.Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he had ordered the military to resume strikes on the heart of Tehran in light of “Iran’s blatant violation” of the cease-fire that was only just declared by Trump late Monday.Iran’s military denied firing on Israel, according to state media— but explosions and sirens still sounded across northern Israel throughout the morning.Hours earlier, President Trump had posted on Truth Social: “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT.PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!”It comes after Israel and Iran had both earlier accepted the plan to end their 12-day war.Trump had blasted out news of the agreement on Truth Social Monday evening, saying: “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”“Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World.
