Kelsey Plum takes exception to Caitlin Clarks sideline antics

Even when she’s hurt, Caitlin Clark’s fire for the game is on display. That happened Thursday night as the Fever hosted the Sparks, without the injured Clark in the lineup, in a hilarious moment toward the end of the first half of an 85-75 Los Angeles win. Clark was animatedly expressing her displeasure with the referees when she caught the attention of the Kelsey Plum as she walked across the court. The Sparks star stopped and started pointing and shouting in Clark’s direction, apparently calling for a ref to give the Fever superstar a technical foul. Plum’s plea to the official seemed to fall on deaf ears and didn’t faze Clark, who seemingly continued to talk in the official’s direction. Sparks coach Lynne Roberts even got a chuckle out of the interaction, with the broadcast camera catching the head coach laughing while the interaction was taking place. Plum and the Sparks got the last laugh in the end, coming away with a win over the Fever for their fifth victory of the season. The loss was the Fever’s third in their last four games. Clark missed her sixth game of the season after she was ruled out earlier in the day with a left groin injury. Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters on Thursday that Clark had informed the team of the pain when they returned from their West Coast road trip the following day. “I think it’s very much a day-to-day thing, how she responds to treatment,” White said, according to the Indy Star.” I stay in my lane and let our strength and conditioning and our AT staff do what they do best.
