43 overall pick on Saturday after not having a pick in Friday’s first round.Spence, an 18-year-old from Ontario, notched 32 goals and 41 assists last season with the OHL’s Erie Otters.He had 177 points over three OHL seasons.The 6-foot-1, 203-pounder was an alternate captain for Canada during the 2024 IIHF World U18 Championships, scoring three goals with four assists en route to winning a gold medal.ESPN had Spence going late in the first round in its final mock draft, and, at one point, he was considered a potential top-10 pick.He’s committed to the University of Michigan for the coming year.
