Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the heart of King Charles funeral plans: report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are heavily featured in funeral plans currently being drawn up for King Charles, according to a report. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been totally estranged from the Windsor clan in recent years, it seems as though the ongoing royal rift isn’t impacting the king’s funeral plans. His Majesty has included not only his youngest son, 40, and the “Suits” alum, 43, “at the heart” of his plans, but he has also factored their two California-based children, Archie and Lilibet, into consideration, the Telegraph reports.Whenever the time comes, the monarch, 76, has reportedly made it clear to officials that the “Spare” author takes his rightful place at the center of his family. And while there’s no suggestion that the king’s reign will not continue for years to come, planning for such major milestones typically kick-starts way in advance.Palace officials hold planning meetings with senior representatives from the police, the military and the church to ensure that everything is in place for when the fateful day arrives. As for the Sussexes, the outlet reports that both Harry and Markle are being included in the entire plan — from the initial announcement to the procession and burial.Harry is expected to walk side by side with his brother, who will then be king, at the forefront of the procession from Westminster Abbey through the streets of London. The Sussexes will also be invited to take part in the family vigil during the lying-in-state period at Westminster Hall. What’s more, arrangements have reportedly been made for Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, to attend the funeral service with their parents.Morning Report delivers the latest news, videos, photos and more.
