Charissa Thompson opens up on Thursday Night Football nightmare: You were going to die

Amazon Prime Video host Charissa Thompson powered through an illness before the Bengals’ victory over the Steelers on “Thursday Night Football” last week.During Monday’s installment of the “Calm Down” podcast, Erin Andrews, a veteran Fox Sports reporter, praised Thompson, who is also an NFL host for Fox, for doing the show after vomiting.“I dreamed of having this job and now two decades later I’m still lucky to have it and I never take it for granted, even if I’m tired, even if it’s this, or that,” Thompson said.“Even if you’re throwing up the day of your game, which I will tell you, you were and you had a Michael Jordan night,” Andrews chimed in, referring to the NBA legend’s infamous “Flu Game” when he led the Chicago Bulls to a 90-88 victory against the Utah Jazz in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals to take a 3-2 series lead.Jordan suffered food poisoning, not the flu.

“You looked spectacular, you handled that desk,” Andrews continued, adding that she loved Thompson’s leather jacket.“You said you were going to die, and I said, ‘If you’re going to die they’re going to bury you in that outfit because you look great.'” Thompson went on to explain her dedication to both of her jobs at Amazon and Fox.“I love this job… and I dont want anyone else to take my job, try to come for my job,” Thompson said.
