Canadian snowboarder-turned-drug kingpin Ryan Wedding ordered hit on witness set to testify: AG

An Olympian-turned-drug kingpin ordered the murder of a federal witness who was gunned down in a restaurant after publishing photographs of him and his wife, US Attorney General Pam Bondi said Wednesday.Ryan Wedding, who competed for Canada as a snowboarder at the 2002 Winter Olympics, allegedly shared the photographs of the witness who was due to testify against him on a now-deleted website called “The Dirty News,” Bondi said at a Wednesday news conference in DC.The witness was shot dead in a restaurant in Medellin, Columbia, according to the feds, as the Department of Justice charged Wedding with two additional counts of witness tampering and intimidation, money laundering and drug trafficking.Wedding, who is listed as one of the FBI’s 10 most-wanted fugitives, is also accused of being one of the world’s biggest drug kingpins.He allegedly smuggled 60 metric tons of cocaine into the US every year via semi trucks crossing into Southern California from Mexico, according to Bondi....
