Kudos to Eurovision for voting against Israel ban

Well, at least they’re putting their antisemitism out in the open: Ireland, Spain and two other self-righteous nations will skip the Eurovision 2026 singing competition because the organizers refuse to eject Israel.Kudos to host nation Austria, Germany and the other countries in the European Broadcasting Union that voted against the Israel ban.Of course the Spaniards, Irish, Dutch and Slovenes pretend it’s purely about Gaza, despite the still-lasting cease-fire; they also make noises about how the Jews supposedly cheated last time ’round. But it’s bigotry, pure and simple: Pandering to their now-large Muslim minorities in some cases, or (when it comes to Ireland) a long and low “tradition” that dates back at least to expressing sorrow and sympathy on the death of Adolf Hitler. This follows exclusions or cancellations of Israeli participation in concerts and athletic contests across Europe over the summer, justified as fear that protests could get out of hand.Cowardly politicians see more votes in siding with the Jew-haters.Subscribe to our daily Post Opinion newsletter! Perhaps the fact that most of Europe refused to play along with the Eurovision boycott is a sign that the tide is turning; otherwise, the continent is well on its way to having no Jews left at all....
