Just as the crowds are expected to surge thanks to a new ticket deal, the park is temporarily shutting down some of its most iconic attractions — including the crown jewel of Galaxy’s Edge.Starting Jan.20, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will go dark for routine maintenance, according to the park’s calendar.
The headlining attraction is widely considered the best ride in the resort, and the closure is likely to come as a big blow.While Disney hasn’t revealed an official reopening date, insiders speculate the closure will drag on until just before the President’s Day weekend rush in mid-February.The planned maintenance comes as Disney just dropped a massive ticket promotion, slashing prices to as low as $68 a day to lure people into the parks during the so-called slow season.The shutdown of rides isn’t limited to a galaxy far, far away.
