A postwar robot toy car known as the “Honeymoon Car” has sold for $233.7k – more than the price of a Tesla.The rare Japanese toy with a robot driver and a robot passenger seems to have been influenced by American convertibles of the 1956-1961 era.Made by ET, the car has a large grille, tailfins, and a “tinted” blue windshield, and is possibly one of only two known that retain their original pictorial box.The post-war toy sold for a staggering $233,700 at Morphy Auctions in Pennsylvania, which is more than the base price of a Tesla Roadster, which is expected to be in the region of $200k to $225.The Honeymoon Car received 37 bids before selling for nearly three times its high estimate to an American buyer.The November 11-13, Toys & General Collectables auction, a 1,375-lot auction line-up, totalled a whopping $1.66 million....
