Justice Department sues Fulton County for 2020 election records

The Department of Justice on Friday filed a lawsuit against Fulton County, Georgia, in an attempt to obtain records from the 2020 election, in what appears to be the latest move from the Trump administration to investigate the election the president lost.The Justice Department is seeking documents including ballot stubs and signature envelopes from the 2020 general election, the lawsuit from the DOJ's civil department states.Georgia prosecutor drops election interference case against Trump, othersAccording to the lawsuit, Attorney General Pam Bondi is investigating Fulton County's "compliance with federal election law."Justice Department officials sent a letter to the Fulton County clerk in November seeking the records, which went unanswered, the suit claims.
