MLB mascots could be hitting home runs on Instagram, according to a new report on the internet earnings potential of the crazy creatures.The Phillie Phanatic, the furry green creature from Philadelphia, is the MVP of the bunch — with the potential for Instagram earnings of $454,790 per year, according to a report by the ticket search engine SeatPick.Batting second is the Atlanta Braves’ Blooper, the fuzzy, blue-and-white critter with extended ears, who could reel in $244,915.Mr.Met, the giant baseball-headed character that serves as the New York Mets mascot, landed in third, with $193,085.To compile their listings, SeatPick calculated each mascot’s average number of Instagram likes per post using the social media analytics website Social Blade.It then estimated potential earnings per post using Influencer Marketing Hub, and multiplied by 365 to tally theoretical earnings in a year of daily posts.In fourth was Rangers Captain of the Texas Rangers — a horse that sports the number 72 to honor the year the team moved to Texas — with $167,170, while the green alien Orbit, of the Houston Astros, came in fifth, hauling in $165,710.Rounding out the rest of the Top 10 were the backwards baseball hat-wearing cub Clark of the Chicago Cubs, Sluggerrr the Kansas City Royals’ lion, Mariner Moose of the Seattle Mariners, the Boston Red Sox’s Wally the Green Monster and Fredbird of the St.
