Longtime serial sex offender finally convicted thanks to victims finding each other on Facebook dating group

A serial sex assaulter was finally nabbed by authorities — and now found guilty — after his victims found each other through an “Are We Dating the Same Guy?” Facebook group.David Kats, 56, was convicted of over a dozen sexual assault counts Wednesday.He had a near-decade long history of drugging and assaulting women he matched with on dating apps, according to prosecutors.Cops were first made aware of the creep after four of his victims discovered their common assaulter through an “Are We Dating the Same Guy?” Facebook group, which is typically used to expose cheaters, according to a news release from Colorado’s 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office.The women learned through their chillingly similar experiences that Kats had an apparent routine.
They were each served drinks by Kats, “blacked out,” and came to hours after being sexually assaulted, according to the release.The horrified victims contacted the Parker Police Department to report Kats.When authorities conducted a search at his home, they “uncovered numerous substances used to incapacitate victims,” the district attorney’s office said.During the long-awaited trial, Kats had the gall to claim the encounters “were consensual,” even with the victims nearly or totally incapacitated, and “denied any wrongdoing,” according to the release.But evidence showed by prosecutors included “several text messages from the victims confronting [Kats] and expressing concern they had been drugged” after their ill-fated dates, the release said.Sherry Salazar and Nicholle Shupe, two of Kats’ victims, both testified during the trial.
“I did not want any woman to feel the way that I feel.And I felt like what he has done to my life is horrific, and I don’t know when or if I’ll ever move on, per se.
