New details have emerged surrounding Kiefer Sutherland’s shocking arrest earlier this month.The “24” star, 59, allegedly punched an Uber driver several times and tried to choke him in Los Angeles on Jan.12, law enforcement sources told ABC News on Sunday while citing allegations from the driver.However, the outlet also reported that the rideshare driver didn’t suffer any injuries that required medical treatment in connection with the surprising incident.According to the law enforcement sources, the driver told police that he fled the vehicle to get away from Sutherland.
Those at the scene also reportedly alleged that Sutherland appeared to be under the influence during the violent altercation, and that the Uber driver called 911 while trying to run away from the “Rabbit Hole” star, per ABC News.The driver had a dash cam-type camera in his car that may have captured some of the alleged incident, sources told the outlet Although Sutherland has not been charged in connection with the suspected incident, the LA County District Attorney’s Office reportedly told ABC News that the “Designated Survivor” actor could be charged next month following a scheduled court appearance.A radio call regarding the incident, meanwhile, was said to be for an alleged assault involving a rideshare driver near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.Sutherland was ultimately arrested on suspicion of felony criminal threats and, according to jail records, posted a $50,000 bond and is due in court on Feb.2.The new details surrounding Sutherland’s arrest come following reports that the actor allegedly threatened to “kill” the rideshare driver because he refused to pull over and let him out of the car earlier this month.Sutherland had been arrested in LA on Jan.
12 following the suspected altercation with the rideshare driver, the LAPD confirmed to Page Six on Jan.13.
