Busy Red Bull offseason continues with club close to adding Jorge Ruvalcaba

Add another new face to the mix for Red Bull New York this upcoming season. The club is finalizing a deal to sign winger Jorge Ruvalcaba from Liga MX side Pumas UNAM, The Post confirmed on Wednesday. The 24-year-old made 75 appearances for the Liga MX club, scoring 14 goals over five seasons with Pumas UNAM.Ruvalcaba also appeared in 13 matches during the 2023-24 season with Standard Liège, which plays in Belgium’s second division. Ruvalcaba recently made his Mexican national team debut in November during a friendly against Paraguay. Details on the specifics of Ruvalcaba’s deal with RBNY are not known and amNewYork reported that the expectation is that he will take up the club’s final designated player spot on the roster for the 2026 season. It was hinted, however, that in subsequent seasons, that could change.News of Ruvalcaba’s impending arrival comes less than a week after Red Bulls head coach Michael Bradley suggested that the club was still looking to make improvements to its roster. “We’re always evaluating every single day,” Bradley said last week during a press conference. “We’re trying to look at the group that we have, trying to find really good ways to push the group here forward and make sure that we’re establishing good ideas, establishing a way of playing how that connects with our mentality… But absolutely, we’re in constant discussion to figure out the best ways to make our team better, to make our team more complete.
