PETA Pans Sabrina Carpenter For Cruel Use Of Live Bird In Grammys Performance

LOADINGERROR LOADINGPeople for the Ethical Treatment of Animals didn’t hold back in its criticism of Sabrina Carpenter’s appearance at the Grammys on Sunday night.At one point during her performance of the song “Manchild,” the 26-year-old pop star entered an airplane prop during her aviation-themed act and held a white dove.
Advertisement Shortly after, PETA condemned Carpenter in a statement on X.“Did [Sabrina Carpenter] really just bring a bird on stage in 2026?! The Manchild singer is giving childlike behavior.Leave animals out of the #GRAMMYs,” the organization wrote alongside an image of the singer holding the bird during her set.
Above the image of Carpenter, PETA appeared to reference her “Manchild” lyrics with the comment: “HEY SABRINA, BRINGING A LIVE BIRD ONTO THE GRAMMYS STAGE IS STUPID, SLOW, USELESS ...AND CRUEL! Bright lights, loud noise, and handling cause fear and distress for a bird who belongs flying free in the open sky.”PETA and reps for Carpenter didn’t immediately respond to HuffPost’s requests for comment.
