Thieves swipe $30K in jewelry from shop in NYC tourist center: cops

Two thieves stole nearly $30,000 worth of jewelry from a ritzy store in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards, police said. The duo pulled off the heist when they walked into a jewelry store at 20 Hudson Yards around 5:44 p.m.on Feb.

5, cops said. While one of the crooks chatted up a salesperson to distract them, the other took the chance to reach around, snatch swag priced at $29,550 and sneakily hide it in his jacket, police said.The two then left without incident, cops said.The crooks made off with a heap of fine jewelry, including a necklace, a baguette compass and a diamond moon, sources said. Cops described the dastardly duo as males with light complexions.One was wearing a black knit hat, black jacket, dark jeans and gray sneakers.
