No sherpas necessary.Gorillaz just announced they’re going to lead their fans Monkeyz on ‘The Mountain Tour’ this fall in support of their 25th anniversary and recently-released ninth studio album with the same name.The North American run will send Damon Albarn and 2-D, Murdoc, Noodle, Russel along with special guests Little Simz and Deltron 3030 to arenas, pavilions and festivals all over the U.S.and Canada from mid-September through Halloween.That includes two New York and New Jersey gigs.

29Ahead of the tour announcement, Gorillaz debuted their new Indian-inspired and death-obsessed record over two nights at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium shows.At those gigs, the genre-defying group played 20 songs per concert, according to Set List FM.Along with special guests, they performed “The Mountain” in full with special guests Sparks, Black Thought, Joe Talbot Asha Puthli and Kara Jackson before closing with a short “second set” that included fan favorites “California and the Slipping of the Sun,” “Rock The House,” “Dirty Harry,” “Feel Good Inc.” and “Clint Eastwood.”“Without a single dull moment, Gorillaz’s show was a testament to the band’s ability to stay fresh,” The Daily Bruin reported in a 4.5-star review of their first Hollywood Palladium gig.
