Titans trade for Solomon Thomas to reunite another ex-Jet with Robert Saleh
If Robert Saleh keeps it up, the Titans may need to be renamed the Jets.The Titans added another ex-Jet on Wednesday when they traded with the Cowboys for defensive lineman Solomon Thomas, per reports.The deal also includes a seventh-round pick going to the Titans and the Cowboys getting a seventh-round pick back in return, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.The list of former Jets who have joined Tennessee this offseason is now up to three after the team brought in Jermaine Johnson II in a trade with Gang Green and signed John Franklin-Myers. All three players played in the Big Apple under Saleh during his tenure as Jets head coach. Thomas appeared in 16 games for the Cowboys in 2025 and recorded 27 tackles. Before that, he spent three seasons with the Jets from 2022-24, which included Saleh’s second season at the helm through the end of his stint when he was fired in the middle of the 2024 campaign. Thomas also crossed over with Saleh while they were both in San Francisco before that.In all, there are five former Jets players or coaches now in Music City with Saleh, who is getting his second go-round as a head coach after a bumpy run at the Meadowlands. Saleh spent the 2025 season as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator, the same role he had held from 2017-2020, and was named head coach of the Titans in January. One big change Saleh plans on making is he intends to call defensive plays, something he didn’t do while he was with the Jets. “I didn’t call plays in New York and I just kind of gave it all to the coordinators,” Saleh told reporters during his introductory press conference.
