A-listers have a habit of snagging multi-unit assemblages in this prized Greenwich Village co-op — and Gracie Abrams just bought yet another home inside.Abrams, the 26-year-old pop singer and daughter of director J.J.
Abrams, splashed out $4.5 million at 1 Fifth Ave.this month, the Real Deal first reported.
The deal marks her third home at the in-demand co-op, according to records.Sotheby’s International’s Martine Capdevielle and Brigitte Goldenberg had the recent listing, according to the Real Deal.The Art Deco building is a true celeb magnet.
The likes of Jessica Lange, Tim Burton and Louis C.K.hold court over multi-unit, sometimes multi-story, homes there.
The circa-1927 co-op, which rises 27 stories at the corner of East Eighth Street and Fifth Avenue, became so notable for its illustrious roster of residents that it served as the setting for Candace Bushnell’s bestselling novel, “One Fifth Avenue.”Abrams first entered the building in late 2024, the same year her pop album “Good Riddance” catapulted her into stardom.She then parlayed that success into a $1.95 million apartment on the 16th floor, according to city records.She snagged another two-unit combo, this one on the 18th floor, for $5.5 million in early 2025.
The ink dried just a few months shy of her two-night, sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden.Her total holdings inside amount to $11.95 million.Abrams’ newest purchase, another two-unit combination apartment on the 18th floor, spans one bedroom and two bathrooms.If combined with her other 18th-floor home, the assemblage could host as many as five bedrooms, five bathrooms and five terraces with views over Washington Square Park, the Real Deal reported.Her new home will be just an elevator ride away from the two-unit apartment of Blythe Danner, Gwyneth Paltrow’s mother, and next door to the former apartment of Keith Richards and Patti Hansen, which the couple sold for $9 million in 2018.The trophy building is filled with...
