Popular international supermarket to open first California location with more stores to come

A wildly popular Canadian-based supermarket chain is making its California debut.T&T Supermarket — the Asian-themed grocery giant know for its prepared foods and bakery counters — will open its first Golden State outpost store next month in San Jose, the company announced.The new store will open June 18 at Westgate Center, located at 1600 Saratoga Ave., with opening celebrations set to begin at 8 a.m.before doors officially open to the public at 9 a.m.The San Jose location marks T&T’s first California location and a major step in the company’s growing push into the United States.And Bay Area shoppers can expect more supermarkets to come.T&T has also announced plans to open stores in San Francisco’s City Center on Geary Boulevard near Masonic Avenue and at Friendship Plaza in Millbrae, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
