Frank Walker Finds His 'OASIS' on Euphoric Sophomore Album

Frank Walker has released OASIS, his sophomore album, out now via Kygo’s Palm Tree Records imprint.Where his 2024 debut ORIGIN established his melodic dance-pop sound, OASIS pushes further into genre-blending territory, drawing on folk, pop, and early-2010s dance nostalgia across 12 tracks.
Walker has been candid about the intent behind it.“I think there was something really special about EDM coming out in the early 2010s during the ‘Golden Era,'” he said in a statement shared with EDM.com.
“It had a raw emotion to it that connected with people in a real way.I think a lot of music today can miss that feeling sometimes, and this album was my way of bringing some of that energy back while still making it feel true to who I am.” Several tracks deliver on that promise.
‘Run With The Sun’ with Bryce Vine and VAVO opens with a galloping, country-tinged energy before landing on a bright summery drop.‘Lay It On Me’ with Josh Ross and Norma Jean Martine follows a similar path, guitar strums and a catchy vocal building into an uplifting dance release.
‘Ocean Eyes’ with TELYKAST, Steerner, and Jazara is perhaps the album’s most nostalgic moment, its effervescent build and euphoric drop carrying the unmistakable feel of a classic early 2010s dance track.‘Surrender’ with Maryon King, Ryos, and Good Humans opens on a more mysterious note, its lyrical hook arriving early: “I got all these secrets that are buried deep inside, you take all my weakness and turn it into light,” before giving way to another emotionally charged drop.
‘All Cried Out’ with salem ilese, which the pair debuted at Ultra Miami earlier this year, rounds out the standouts. In addition to the album release, Walker shared music videos for ‘Remember Us,’ ‘All Cried Out,’ and ‘Lay It On Me.’ Walker has upcoming performances at Veld Music Festival, Breakaway Music Festival Utah, and Kygo’s own Palm Tree Festival in Montecito, California.
