A Los Angeles woman accused of killing her husband and two young children in a horrific murder-suicide is described as “a caring mother and wife” in a bizarre fundraiser posted online by family members.Police say Marine Basmajian, 29, shot and killed her husband, Khajag Basmajian, 31, and the couple’s two young children, Alec and Ella, before pulling the trigger on herself in the family’s North Hills home Wednesday night.Baby girl Ella was just six days old when she was murdered by her mother, according to police.Young Alec was only two years old.An online fundraiser posted in the wake of the tragic incident described Marine as a “a caring mother and wife” who “enjoyed gatherings among her loved ones” and found comfort in organization.“As we face the unimaginable task of honoring and laying four beloved family members to rest, we are asking for support to help cover funeral and memorial and other unexpected expenses,” states the fundraiser.The online benefit is described as an “official fundraiser created by members of the Basmajian family.” As of Monday afternoon, it had garnered more than $171,000 in donations — well above its stated goal of $150,000.More than 900 people have contributed to the family’s online effort, which says that every “donation, prayer, and share is deeply appreciated.”The fundraiser describes Khajag as a “devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, and friend” whose son, Alec, took after him.
“To know him is to love him.With a beaming smile on his face and a positive outlook on life, he was truly a friend you could count on,” the fundraiser says of Khajag.With his “bright smile and cheerful eyes,” tragic toddler Alec possessed a love for ice cream and toy vehicles, and “brought joy and laughter wherever he went,” according to the online benefit, which says Alec couldn’t wait to meet his days-old sister.
