'The Pitt' Actor Ned Brower Launches Electronic Music Project, BLOODWERK

Ned Brower, best known for his role as Nurse Jesse on The Pitt, is now producing electronic music as one half of BLOODWERK, a new artist project launched alongside film and TV composer John E.Low.
Brower, who first found fame as the drummer for indie-rock band Rooney in the early-2000s, says his appreciation for electronic music took shape at Burning Man.“I started going to Burning Man five years ago and was like, ‘Oh, I finally understand electronic music in a new way that never interested me before,’ and wanted to try my hand at that,” he told PEOPLE.
The experience led him to ring up Low, a longtime friend, with a compelling pitch: “What if we just made music with no constraints?” Brower says the name BLOODWERK was born in the ER, when a doctor friend suggested it while he was holding a handful of blood tubes. He immediately clocked the Kraftwerk spelling connection, nodding to the pioneering group whose influence on electronic music dates back to the 1970s.
“I’m not even a big Kraftwerk person, but I love them historically for their contributions to electronic music,” he said. The duo cite Justice, Tame Impala, Empire of the Sun and New Order among their influences, aiming for what Brower calls “an LA representation of the dance-pop indie space.” BLOODWERK previously released ‘Truth Will Tell’ and ‘Sound of Mind’ earlier this year. The official music video for their latest single, ‘The Other Side’ was directed by Leigh Whannell, the horror filmmaker behind the Saw franchise and Wolf Man.
