Montauk Yacht Club unveils new dining and delights, including a floating spa

Perched on Star Island Road, at the far eastern end of Long Island, sits the iconic Montauk Yacht Club. The 106-room hotel — which originally opened in 1929 and counted Astors, Whitneys and Vanderbilts as members — has always had a lot to offer: a private beach with stand-up paddleboards, two outdoor pools (one for families and one for adults), a lively bar and a marina filled with gorgeous boats.

But this summer, the resort is expanding its repertoire with new dining, wellness and party options. The waterside restaurant at the yacht club has historically changed hands every few years.“Being in the Hamptons, it’s always important to stay current,” says general manager Omar Abreu.

“Or players can enjoy a spritz after their match.”The Yacht Club is also launching a new floating wellness cabana (located on Lake Montauk) for recovery. It will offer specially curated facial and body treatments, which guests can enjoy while gently gliding. Those looking for a thrill can participate in the property’s new surf experience, curated by pro wave rider Jamie O’Brien.

There will be private lessons, group classes and kids’ clubs, all with round-trip transportation to nearby beaches. An on-property surf shop will provide guests with everything they need for a day on the waves.
