Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s campaign guru Morris Katz wanted to feature his penis in a “puberty book” for “curious boys” as young as 10-years-old, but decided against it at the behest of his publisher.Katz, 27, who is now reportedly working with horny oyster farmer and Maine US Senate candidate Graham Platner, made the startling admission in a footnote in his 2020 book “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Puberty―and Shouldn’t Be Googling: For Curious Boys.”The 112-page volume, which Amazon’s listing says is aimed at boys age 10-12, is an illustrated guide to male puberty, covering universal concerns about the changes youngsters experience during adolescence such as body hair, acne and an increase in sexual thoughts.It features sections titled “Your New Penis” and “The Magic of Masturbation.”But the book features an eyebrow-raising footnote on page 17 — which colorfully illustrates the effect of puberty hormones on male genitalia between the ages of 11 and 14 using oranges, snakes and butterflies as examples — indicating Katz once had a very different idea for the spread.“At first, we were going to use images of my penis to get this point across but the publisher said it was inappropriate so here we are, with some fruit and animal metaphors,” Katz wrote.“Is your penis actually going to become an animal or fruit? No.Probably not.

What will happen during puberty is your penis will develop and transform.You guys are smart though, you get the point.”Another section of the book, about sexual feelings, includes a passage on “sexuality” where Katz writes about the awkwardness of having a crush on “someone a lot older than you” or even “on someone who’s not really thinking sexual thoughts yet.”The same chapter introduces the concept of transgender identity to children, noting, “the sexual organs you are assigned at birth determine your gender at birth.
