“I’d love to work with Daft Punk,” Garrix told the station.“They’ve meant so much for electronic music and for me as well.
It would be incredible.” Setting aside the near-impossibility of the scenario given that Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo formally dissolved their partnership in 2021, a DJ can dream.Garrix grew up in an era shaped entirely by the legendary robots’ seminal work, and for him to cite them as aspirational collaborators reflects how durable that influence has been, not to mention how seriously he takes his own artistic legacy.
Opening up about the forthcoming album, his first since 2022’s electrifying Sentio, Garrix said the project “will be released more towards the end of this year” and includes collaborators with whom he “never even thought” he’d share a studio.The Dutch EDM superstar recently joined forces with Ed Sheeran to release ‘Repeat It,’ a track the duo initially revealed way back in 2014.
