Sherwin-Williams picks drab shade as Loneliest Color for 2026: Overlooked and unexpected

LeBron James has taken the “loneliest color” and made it an admirable hue.Offbeat Green SW 7606, the least-used paint color of Sherwin-Williams’ collection, has been named The Loneliest Color of 2026.Its greenish-yellow shade is described as an “earthy, lime green” in attempts to embellish the lackluster hue.Sherwin-Williams markets The Loneliest Color as a way to “rediscover the beauty of color” and annually chooses an unpopular, dull hue to revive and find ways to make useful through different color pairings and visualizations.While it was sitting on shelves, rejected and dismal, the shade was christened with the title after the LeBron James Family Foundation partnered with Sherwin-Williams to spotlight it and give it a resurgence.The partnership includes taking part in the PROMISE Project, where a home education center will be built in Akron, Ohio, to support first-time homeowners, painting the door of the center with the yellow-green color.
